July 14-16, 2014
The Wartburg Summer Speech Institute is a one-of-a-kind camp specifically designed for high school students who participate in Iowa Speech events. With input from the Iowa High School Speech Association and suggestions from high school coaches, we have put together 3 days of workshops and projects (and fun) which will give your student a comprehensive base of skills no matter the event(s) they compete in during the speech season.
Wartburg SSI will bring in a number of experts to teach students on a variety of different subjects, such as acting, interpretation, characterization, cutting, writing, researching, filming, editing, scene development, and more! Students will learn basic skills from our experts and get a chance to work hands-on on a project of their choosing to put those skills into action. However, Wartburg SSI isn’t all about the work! We also give your student the opportunity to work closely with other students from around the state to form bonds and friendships which can last a lifetime. By integrating themselves into the community, students will not only be better prepared for the speech season, but also for school projects, college, and society.
