28 to receive diplomas at Wartburg College Dec. 13

Wartburg College will bestow diplomas on 28 graduates during midyear Baccalaureate and Commencement Sunday, Dec. 13.

The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. in Wartburg Chapel. Michael Bechtel, assistant professor of science education and recipient of the 2015 John O. Chellevold Student Award for Excellence in Teaching and Professional Service, will give the message.

The Wartburg Chamber Orchestra will perform under the direction of Jacob Tews, visiting assistant professor of music.

The College and Black Student Union partnered to bring Rodney Lewis of Rodney's Kitchen in Waterloo to campus to prepare a traditional Black meal for dinner in Mensa as part of the College and organization's celebration of Black History Month, as reported by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. 

Maribel Lopez ’10 has been named the head of PBS Digital Studios, where she will oversee the station's efforts to further drive content delivery and audience development across multiple digital platforms.
