Wartburg College is heading back to the Iowa State Fair.

The Wartburg College booth, which made its debut last year, is returning to its place  in aisle five in the Varied Industries Building.

Wartburg students, alumni and staff will hand wristbands out to Knight fans of all ages and orange plastic sacks for carrying fair swag. Those who take a picture at the booth are encouraged to share it on social media using #WBurgFair. Sir Victor also will make several special appearances throughout the fair, Aug. 13-23.

Wrestling coach emeritus Jim Miller will show Sir Stanley, a Page County steer owned by 16-year-old 4-H/FFA member Sadie Graham of Clarinda, during the 33rd annual Governor’s Steer Show Saturday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m. in the Pioneer Livestock Pavilion. The event raises money for the families who utilize the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Iowa.

“Our inaugural year was such a success, we couldn’t wait to come back,” said Tony Smith, assistant director of alumni and parent relations. “Our volunteers are excited to connect with the many alumni, students, parents and friends of the college who will visit our booth this year, as well as share why Wartburg is worth it for prospective students.”
