Wartburg College won four awards for excellence at a Council for Advancement and Support of Education regional competition.

Wartburg received two gold, one silver and one bronze award in the contest for colleges, universities and independent schools in CASE District VI, encompassing Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. The awards were presented at the district conference, Jan. 8-10, in Denver.

“The best praise we can receive is from our peers, and it is great to see Wartburg is held in high regard by other higher education advancement pros,” said Graham Garner, assistant vice president for marketing and communication. “We have some truly talented individuals on our marketing and communication team, and it is great to see them and the college recognized for outstanding work.”

Gold awards went to two web-based features: the annual report and an alumni e-Christmas card. Instead of a printed annual report, Wartburg created a multimedia experience with a website featuring video interviews with college leaders. The online e-card includes photos and music from Christmas with Wartburg.

The silver award was for a series of co-branded “value” posters matching Wartburg with other well-known commercial brands where alumni work.

The bronze award was a commercial created for the Admissions Office by ME&V, a Cedar Falls public relations and marketing firm. The ad, “You Can Be Anything You Want to Be,” features several successful Wartburg alumni in a variety of professions. It is at http://youtu.be/L8nWCqAnAZk.

Persons involved with the projects were Chris Knudson, director of creative strategy; Linda Moeller, senior strategist; and Julie Drewes, visual medial manager.
