Wartburg College Food Pantry

Food insecurity remains a significant challenge on college campuses nationwide, including Wartburg College. Even students with meal plans may face uncertainty about accessing food during campus breaks or at other times throughout the academic year. In response, Wartburg College—through a partnership with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank and with ongoing support from campus and community donors—provides free, nutritious groceries to students in need.

The Saint Elizabeth Breadbasket (SEBB) program, launched in 2019, has grown substantially in both reach and impact. In 2025 alone, the pantry supported over 775 student visits and distributed approximately 4,400 pounds of food to students across breaks and throughout the academic year. Demand has continued to increase, with more than 500 student visits and over 2,250 pounds of food distributed in just the first five months of 2026. These numbers demonstrate the essential role the pantry plays in supporting student well-being.

At Wartburg, we are a community committed to caring for one another—no student should go hungry. For more information about the on-campus food pantry program or food insecurity resources, please contact the Student Life Office. All inquiries are handled with care and confidentiality.
