Academic Advising
In the Academic Resource Center (ARC), we often tell students, “We will get to know you, and know you well.” This commitment extends to how academic advising works at Wartburg. Quality advising is a critical component of student success, and our decentralized model ensures every student receives personalized, discipline‑specific support. Students are paired with a faculty advisor within their major, enabling deep academic guidance, meaningful mentorship, and strong connections to academic programs. Because faculty advisors specialize in their fields, they are well equipped to address each student’s unique goals while integrating academic planning with professional preparation.
While faculty advisors provide exceptional support, they are also backed by a campuswide network of offices and staff dedicated to enhancing each student’s advising experience. The Registrar’s Office plays a vital role by maintaining academic records, clarifying policies, and ensuring students and advisors have current, accurate information for planning. The ARC reinforces advising by offering academic support, individualized interventions, and supplemental advising when students can benefit from additional guidance. Student Life further enriches the advising ecosystem through programs such as the First-Year Experience (FYE), the Global Engagement Team, and the Career Connections Center. Rest assured, when it comes to your academic advising experience at Wartburg, we will get to know you and know you well.
