
Peer Tutoring & Writing Consultation
The Academic Resource Center provides free, collaborative peer-to-peer learning services for all Wartburg students in Library 204.
Peer tutors offer subject-specific tutoring to assist students in understanding course concepts, homework assignments, and preparing for exams.
Writing consultants are also available to provide guidance in all stages of the writing process including brainstorming, research, content development, organization, formatting, and citations.
Peer Tutors and Writing Consultants aim to provide support that encourages students to become self-motivated, independent learners over time.
Peer Learning Lab Hours:
Sunday: 6-9 p.m.
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Saturday: Closed
Walk-ins are welcome; however, to ensure that a peer will be available to assist with your specific subject matter, we recommend booking in advance.

Peer tutors are Wartburg students that have been successful in their departments and have a desire to help other students succeed. They are selected based on their demonstrated tutoring philosophy and must meet the following qualifications:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Receive a faculty recommendation
- Earn an A or A- in the courses they wish to tutor
As successful students, peer tutors and writing consultants share their content knowledge, in-class experiences, and motivation to learn as they create a friendly, inclusive environment that fosters student-defined academic success.
