Testing Services

Students with approved testing accommodations may utilize ARC testing services to take exams in a private and secure manner. Whether a student requires extended time, a distraction reduced environment or an exam reader, the ARC can accommodate.

A testing room may also be reserved by ESL students. This provides a private space to use a translator or extra time if agreed upon by faculty.

Testing Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m.

Questions about ARC Testing Services?
Call the ARC at 319-352-8615 or stop by Vogel Library Suite 314.

STEP 1: SCHEDULE YOUR EXAM OR QUIZ

Determine your test date found on your syllabus, Canvas, or as informed by your instructor.

Submit the Exam Scheduling Request 2 business days prior to the scheduled exam.

STEP 2: CHECK YOUR EMAIL

ARC will send a confirmation email to the student and instructor when a request has been processed.

If the request is approved, this email will include a link to a form for instructors to complete with instructions for the exam administrator.

If the request is denied, the email will include information for why the request was denied (most commonly by not following ARC testing policy). The student will be asked to submit a new exam request for an alternate day/time.

STEP 3: TAKE YOUR EXAM

  1. Arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled exam at the ARC, Vogel Library Suite 314 location.
  2. Check in with the ARC Office Coordinator/Testing Supervisor.
  3. Leave backpacks, books, notebooks, cell phones, smart watches, etc. with the ARC Office Coordinator/Testing Supervisor.
  4. The ARC Office Coordinator/Testing Supervisor will review the exam instructions with you prior to testing and accompany you to a testing room.
  5. Exams are monitored for test security.
  6. Return all testing materials to the ARC upon completion.
  7. The ARC will notify faculty of completed exams, keeping exams in a secure location until picked up.
