Guest organist to be featured at ‘Bach’s Lunch’ March 11

Katie Moss will be the guest artist at Wartburg College’s “Bach’s Lunch” Friday, March 11.

Moss’ performance at 12:30 p.m. in Wartburg Chapel will be preceded by a noon lunch and explanation of the program in Chapel Commons.

She will perform “Sonata in B-flat Major,” “Prelude and Fugue in E Minor” and three chorales for Lent.

Moss, who studies organ with Chris Young, is pursuing a Doctor of Music in organ performance and church music at Indiana University. She won the Milwaukee Music Teachers’ Association Young Artists Competition (piano) and 2011 Schubert Club Student Scholarship Competition and earned second place in the 2011 American Guild of Organists Region VI Young Artists Competition.

She lives in Readlyn, where her husband, Matthew, serves as a pastor.
