Political science class meeting outside on the campus mall

The world is increasingly interconnected, and understanding how countries, cultures, economies, and institutions interact is more important than ever. Wartburg College’s interdisciplinary international relations major gives you the tools to explore global issues from multiple perspectives while developing the critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills needed to engage with a complex world.

Drawing on fields such as political science, economics, history, sociology, and languages, the major encourages you to look beyond a single discipline and understand the forces shaping international affairs. You’ll examine global challenges, explore different cultures and perspectives, and connect what you learn in the classroom with experiences beyond campus. Whether your interests lie in diplomacy, international business, public service, nonprofit work, law, or graduate study, international relations prepares you to understand the world and make a difference in it.
