What has been your favorite class: Qualitative Research Methods. We worked on a semester-long project focused on the transportation needs of older adults in Bremer County. This project equipped me with the necessary skills needed for research and teamwork but also had a lasting impact on the lives of these community residents as this project comes to life.
Why did you choose Wartburg: I chose Wartburg because of the small school feel compared to being from a bustling city life, the opportunity to be involved as much or as little as I want and thrive in it, the ability to shape my courses the way I need them, and the wonderful friendships and experiences I would not have gotten otherwise.
What advice would you give to new students: The Wartburg experience is how you shape it. Take advantage of the resources, the opportunities to get involved, try saying yes to new things every so often, but most importantly, soak up everything in the present. It is so easy to get carried away in assignments, classes, and practice, but I want to challenge you to find your why here at Wartburg because it is truly so worth it.
How would you describe Wartburg in three words: Community, transformative, valuable
What has been your favorite Wartburg experience: Homecoming & Family Weekend! I have been a part of this organization for all four years, and it never fails to amaze me how our campus comes together in unity at our events, and the emotions alumni and families feel when they roam around campus. It is always a fun time putting everything together from the planning to the decorations, and seeing our hard work come to life successfully.
Any other thoughts you would like to share: Being an international student and having this opportunity to thrive, feel empowered by this community, and indulge in the culture has been nothing short of incredible. This place has become like home to me (even my phone auto-maps here from wherever I am). I hope you find your experience worthwhile at Wartburg!
