
Wartburg College student-run media organizations captured nine top place finishes at the Iowa Broadcast News Association’s annual conference and awards ceremony April 18.
In total the college’s student-run television and radio stations earned 20 awards in categories ranging from political and sports coverage to in-depth storytelling and podcast creation.
The students and recent graduates who helped create the award-winning content were:
Joziphene Luneckas-Broomhall, who received first place in Political Coverage, Student TV.
Jace Holz, who received first place in Political Coverage, Student TV and In-Depth Series, Student Radio. He also received second place in Best Newscast, Student Radio and third place in Feature, Student Radio.
Jax Caddell, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and Best Sportscast, Student Radio. He also received second place in Best Podcast, Student Radio and third place in In-Depth Series, Student TV.
Addy Wells, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV.
Landon Jepson, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and second place in Best Podcast, Student Radio. He also received third place in Sports Play-by-Play, Student TV and General Reporting: Student TV.
Caleb Kammerer, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and Sports Play-by-Play, Student TV. He also received second place in Best Sportscast, Student Radio and Sports Play-by-Play, Student Radio.
Christopher Guerrero, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and Sports Play-by-Play, Student TV. He also received second place in Sports Play-by-Play, Student Radio.
Zach Hiney, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and In-Depth Series, Student TV.
Reagan Brooks, who received first place in Best Sportscast, Student TV and In-Depth Series, Student TV.

Finley Fitzgerald, who received first place in Public Affairs, Student Radio.
Knight Vision and KWAR are open to all Wartburg students interested in media creation. Knight Vision streaming features news and sports shows; streams home athletic, music and chapel events; and includes the documentaries produced by students for RICE Day.
KWAR is Wartburg’s student radio station, broadcasting to the Waverly area community. They are a top 40 station with volunteer DJs at the helm. KWAR also covers local high school sporting events.
The Iowa Broadcast News Association is a state-wide non-profit association made up of radio and television professionals serving Iowa and the surrounding states. Members work to improve the quality of electronic media production for both television and radio news programming.
