Two to represent Wartburg at national speech, debate tournament

Two Wartburg College seniors have qualified for the 2016 American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville April 2-4.

Jessica Donahue, a writing and communications arts major from Waukee, qualified for the tournament in persuasion and poetry. Andrew Tubbs, a music applied major from Des Moines, qualified in after-dinner speaking and impromptu.

The tournament features competitions in 11 events. Students must qualify through a rigorous at-large and district qualification system.
