James Morris Jr.

Instructional Designer and LMS Administrator

Education 
James is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education at Texas Tech University. He holds graduate degrees in Rhetoric and Writing Studies, Creative Writing, and Learning Design and Technology, as well as undergraduate degrees in English and Transfer Studies. 

Professional Experience 
James has worked in instructional design since 2016 and currently serves as an Instructional Designer and LMS Administrator at Wartburg College. His experience spans multiple institutions, including the University of Michigan, Purdue University, the University of Oklahoma, and Eastern Kentucky University. His interdisciplinary background in the humanities and instructional design informs his approach to high-quality online and hybrid education. 

Beyond the Classroom 
James has lived in seven states and three countries. His favorite book is The Fates Will Find Their Way by Hannah Pittard, and his favorite quote comes from Walt Whitman: “I am large, I contain multitudes.”
