Tom Douglas Moeller October 19, 1963 – July 26, 2026
Tom Douglas Moeller was born on October 19, 1963, in Spirit Lake, Iowa to loving parents, Donald Irvin Moeller and Sharon Ruth Moeller (Kephart). The third of three boys (Lon Moeller and Ron Moeller), his childhood was filled with small town adventures, carefree outdoor play and the perfect balance of stirring up trouble and showing up when it mattered. The majority of his childhood was spent in Waverly, Iowa, where he graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1982 and played on the Go-Hawk basketball and baseball teams.
Throughout his short but so very full 62 years on this Earth, his closeness and connection to Iowa influenced every facet of his life. His simple Midwest values rooted him in care and kindness. If the world gave him anything, he’d give it back two fold, sometimes three.
Tom went on to study business at the University of Northern Iowa before transferring to his hometown’s alma mater, Wartburg College, where he graduated with his BSA in Business Administration and Marketing 1986. It was there he met his loving wife of 40 years, Jennifer Lee Moeller (Brown) of Pontiac, Illinois. They were married the same year they graduated and began their incredible marriage and life together, eventually welcoming their three daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Moeller (Jaron), Addison Lee Moeller (Driscoll) and Maggie Elise Moeller (not to mention, multiple dogs throughout the years… also female).
In true Tom Moeller fashion, he took any and all opportunities that came his way. He built a distinguished sales career with various consumer packaged goods companies, including Nabisco, Schering-Plough, William Wrigley Jr, Co., and floral and gifting e-commerce company, FTD. His indelible work ethic, positive demeanor and integrity enabled him to forge hundreds of relationships of which he treasured deeply.
His career took him and his family across the country, allowing them to build a tapestry of memories they will cherish forever.
Tom valued his time with his family and friends. Of note is vacationing on 30A in Florida, trying new restaurants downtown Chicago, teeing off on literally any golf course and rooting for his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium, likely his favorite. His innate ability to cultivate belonging and fun for everyone was truly his secret weapon, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In the last several years of his life, Tom embraced the three sons he never had via his son-in-laws, Vince Jaron (Lauren), Colin Driscoll (Addison) and Dylan Sams (Maggie), in addition to his grandchildren, Wesley Thomas Jaron (2.5 and proudly named after him) and Grace Lee Driscoll (5 weeks old). His family, as he referred to as the “Moe Clan,” was his everything.
Let his incredible life and legacy remind us to move forward in the way he always did: seeing the glass half full; giving others the benefit of the doubt; not taking life too seriously; always booking the trip; and never being the first to let go of a hug.

He is survived by his immediate family: Jennifer Moeller (Brown), Lauren Moeller-Jaron (Moeller), Addison Driscoll (Moeller), and Maggie Moeller; grandchildren, Wesley Jaron and Grace Driscoll; nieces, Clare Vogel, Bobbie Vogel, Keelia Estrada (Moeller), Jessica Boyle (Moeller), Sarah Moeller, and Ashley Moeller; nephews, Jack Vogel and Matt Moeller; great-niece, Claire Boyle; great-nephews, Connor Boyle and Adonis Moeller; brother, Lon Moeller; and mother, Sharon Ruth Moeller.
Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Ron; his father, Don; and his nephew, Jacob Starks.
