Charles Norman Farnham

1935 – 2022

Charles Norman Farnham was born on January 11, 1935, to Malinda Eichmeyer and Henry A. Farnham, in Hampton, Iowa and passed away on October 28, 2022, in Vancouver WA.
Charles lived most of his life in Salem Oregon. He moved to Vancouver in 2018.
After graduating from seminary, Chuck started his career as a Lutheran minister in a small town in Iowa. He felt a calling to Oregon in 1961 where he accepted a chaplain position with Fairview Training Center. He went on to dedicate the rest of his working life to the residents and fellow employees of Fairview while advancing through the ranks of management and retiring as the Superintendent in 1997. He had a jazz band growing up and always loved music. He was an athlete and enjoyed running and cycling.
He is survived by his son Shaun D. (Denise) Farnham, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and sister Kathy (Howard) Brandt of Iowa. Chuck is preceded in death by his wife Maureen (1994) and son Nathanael (2016).
