Peggy Kay Quick, age 73, passed away peacefully June 7, 2026.
Born in Waverly, Iowa November 17, 1952, to Fannie and Albert Garbers, and raised in Clarksville, Iowa. Peggy graduated from Clarksville High School in 1971 and went on to earn a degree in social work from Wartburg College, in 1975.
Peggy spent her career working as a coordinator at a chemical dependency center in Wadena, Minnesota. Later she worked as a social worker at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Algona, Iowa.
Peggy married the love of her life, James Quick, June 20, 1981. They moved to Bloomington, Minnesota in 1984 where they raised their son Corey, born in 1987.
Peggy was the epitome of kindness. She was an unbelievably caring, loving, and supporting mother to her son Corey, and to her grandson Hunter who was born in 2016. Hunter was the light of her life; every chance she had to spend time with him she was always beaming with joy. Peggy was loved dearly by her family and many friends that she made over her lifetime.
Proceeded in death by parents Fannie and Albert Garbers, husband James Quick, brother Roger Garbers, brother-in-law Roger Lahr.
Survived by son Corey (Catherine) Quick, grandson Hunter Quick, sister Marjorie Lahr, nephews Richard Lahr and Brian (Bree) Lahr, sister-in-law Judy (Van) Anderson, nieces Angela (De) Hanuman and Lauren (Garret) Sanders, stepdaughter Sherri Quick, stepson Gary (Maureen) Quick, step grandchildren Lynnea Quick and Janelle Quick, along with many close friends.
