Michelle Lynn Stearns Parsons, age 48, of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, was born the daughter of Dale and Janet (Honsbruch) Stearns, on July 26, 1977, in Waterloo, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, Iowa. Michelle graduated from Aplington Parkersburg High School in 1995 and continued her education, graduating from Wartburg College with her bachelor’s degree and had been working towards her master’s degree.
Michelle had a passion for helping people which led her to several communities, working in social work and substance abuse counseling over the years before making her current home in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
Michelle was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved to cross stitch. She enjoyed baking cakes, especially for her niece and nephew. For every birthday, she brought their favorite characters to life in the form of a cake. Logan and Claire were the joys of her life, and she was one of their biggest supporters. During her time in Parkersburg, she played the organ and sang in the choir at Bethel Lutheran Church for many years. She also sang in the Wartburg Choir during her time there. Michelle will be remembered for her joyful, loving personality and contagious smile.
Michelle died Sunday, April 5, 2026, at her home following a prolonged illness. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Otis and Ruth Stearns and Adrian and Evelyn Honsbruch; uncles, David Stearns, Dwight Stearns and Roger Honsbruch; and aunt, Sarah Stearns.
Michelle is survived by: the love of her life, Rick Parsons of Mineral Point, Wisconsin; her dog, Bruno, who she loved like a child, her parents; Dale and Janet Stearns of Unionville, Missouri; sister, Sara (James) Deike of Wellsburg, Iowa; nephew, Logan Deike; niece, Claire Deike; Rick’s sons,Logan and Jayden Parsons; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
