Carol J. Wolf, 82, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Arlington Place Assisted Living in Oelwein.
Carol Jean Suckow was born July 14, 1943, in West Union, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Lewis and Helen Mildred (Springer) Suckow. She graduated from North High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree from Wartburg College and her master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Carol taught grade school in La Porte City, Northwood and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Oelwein. On August 10, 1968, she was united in marriage to Boyd Eugene Wolf at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Carol worked with Boyd at Boyd Wolf Accounting. She also spent time working at the Cupboard and One Of A Kind in Oelwein and selling World Book Encyclopedias. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in West Union. Carol enjoyed quilting, sewing, craft shows and helping sew quilts of valor for local veterans.
Carol is survived by her 4 sisters: Bonnie Goeller of Fairbank, Darlene (Duane) Pleis of Fairbank, JoAnn Suckow of Postville and Sandra (Gerry) Suckow-Voss of St. Michel, Minnesota; sister-in-law: Marva Dee Cook of Dundee; brother-in-law: Mert (Kathy) Wolf of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews: Tracy (Tommy) Kalenske of Fairbank, Mark (Sherrie) Pleis of Nevada, Robert (Nancy) Goeller of Fairbank, Gary (Sara) Goeller of Oelwein, Kay Goeller of Fairbank, John (Abby) Goeller of Waukee, Brenda Suckow of St. Lucas, Wendy Suckow of Grimes, Jenny (Jeremy) Johnson of Grimes, Katie Hackman of Cedar Falls, Lori Short of Jonesburg, Missouri, Michael Wolf of Dubuque, Jeffrey Cook of La Porte City, Jim Cook of Manchester, Jeannie Cook of Vancouver, Washington, Merle Cook, Jr. of Nashua, John Cook of Cedar Rapids and Katy Wolf of La Crosse, Wisconsin; and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother: Ralph Suckow; and brothers-in-law: James Goeller and Merle Cook, Sr.
