Knight Ready:
Your Path to the Castle
The Official Clearance Process of Wartburg College
Being Knight Ready is the official clearance process for all new and returning Wartburg students. To ensure you are cleared for move-in, class registration, and campus life, you must complete the following checklist before the start of each term.

Why Being “Knight Ready” Matters
Just as a Knight prepares before entering the field, we want you fully prepared before stepping into the classroom. This isn’t about checking boxes, it’s about making sure you return to campus with confidence and a clear plan for managing your educational expenses, so your time and energy can go toward the joys of being a college student.
When these steps aren’t completed by the deadlines, it can create avoidable disruptions, such as:
- Delayed move‑in to your residence hall
- Losing your preferred class schedule
- Temporary deactivation of your Wartburg ID card
We’re on your side. Our goal is to help you start the year strong, with everything in place so you can focus on friends, classes, activities, and all the moments that make Wartburg feel like home. Let’s get you Knight Ready!

Returning Undergraduate Students
The Knight Ready Checklist
To reach full clearance, ensure the following steps are complete.
- Register for Classes: When registration opens for the upcoming term, be sure to register for your classes as soon as possible in order to have the best chances of being able to enroll in your ideal classes. If you have an advising hold, be sure to make an appointment to meet with your advisor.
- Housing Lottery: Participate in the housing lottery (typically March) to secure your residence hall room and dining plan for the upcoming year.
- Parking Registration: All vehicles on campus must be registered. Submit your vehicle information when registration opens each spring.
- Complete the Financial Clearance Process: The Financial Clearance Process is a requirement for every term you attend Wartburg. Be sure to keep track of your student account so that you are aware of the status of all of your aid sources, whether any documentation is needed each term, etc. Remember, you must complete the FAFSA every year you are receiving financial aid and you must be financially clear in order to be able to move-in upon your return to campus each fall.
IMPORTANT!
Your class registration and housing is
not guaranteed until you are financially cleared.
