Explore the Wonders of Germany Tour
Castles, Culture, History, Wine, Beer & Fellowship
Tour Dates: May 29 to June 9, 2026
Join Dr. Daniel J. Walther, Gerald R. Kleinfeld Chair in German History, on an unforgettable 11-day journey through Germany, as we immerse ourselves in the rich traditions of culinary wine, beer, history, and culture, while tracing the deep historical and spiritual roots of Wartburg College.
From the towering spires of Cologne’s cathedral to the serene vineyards along the Rhine, and from the legacy of Martin Luther at Wartburg Castle to the world’s oldest breweries and bustling beer halls of Bavaria, this tour blends thoughtful exploration with convivial experiences.
We are also honored to welcome special guest Dr. Kristi Becker, who will join our group in Cologne to share a personal reflection on her time in Germany, including insights into the culture and spirit of Cologne.
Together, we’ll uncover the stories behind Germany’s iconic regions—sampling beer and wines, strolling medieval towns, visiting monasteries, and engaging with the cultural heritage that shaped both Germany and Wartburg College’s roots.
