Student Financial Agreement (login required)
The Student Financial Agreement is currently being updated. Students will be notified via their Wartburg email when this agreement is ready to review and sign. Wartburg College requires each student to sign a Student Financial Agreement (SFA). Registration for classes and this agreement constitutes a legal contract between the student and Wartburg College. The SFA explains the terms and conditions of the student’s financial responsibilities, including Wartburg College’s terms of payment, policies related to delinquent and defaulted accounts, communications, and other important terms. The College asks the student to carefully read the disclosures, terms, and conditions before signing the agreement.

Business Office Overview (PDF)
This document briefly explains the billing process and lists important due dates to keep in mind to ensure payments are made on time. This document also provides additional information about May Term, book charges, and student employment.

Summary of Charges (PDF)
This document is a resource you can quickly reference to further understand the charges for tuition, housing, food, and other fees.

Transact Instructions (PDF)
Transact provides students and other authorized parties with access to view recent Wartburg College student account billing statements, review account history, and make electronic payments via credit/debit card and/or ACH. Students are encouraged to walk through the instructions provided and may grant login information and permissions to a trusted adult that will be assisting them with the finances of their college education.

Financial Aid Action Items:
Please click each section below and review these items prior to attending SOAR.

Students interested in receiving federal, state and/or institutional aid must reapply for aid each year by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Wartburg strongly encourages students to file their FAFSA by May 1st for full consideration for all federal, state, and institutional aid. The state deadline for Iowa students is July 1. Out of state students are not eligible for state aid.

A third of the FAFSA applicants are randomly selected for a process called verification. The Financial Aid Office is required by federal regulations to collect additional documents and “verify” the FAFSA was completed properly. New students selected for verification are sent verification materials one week prior to their designated SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) day and asked to submit the completed forms at SOAR.

Students will receive an email notification when your financial aid offer at Wartburg is ready. The notification will instruct you how to access and utilize Net Partner, our online financial aid system. On Net Partner you can:

  • Accept or decline work opportunities.
  • Accept, reduce, or decline your loans.
  • Ensure that all loan applications or supplemental financial aid materials are completed.
  • Access your financial aid information 24 hours a day, seven days a week to keep informed.

Please notify the Financial Aid Office of any private scholarships and/or changes in your enrollment assumptions.

Financial aid is available from the federal and state governments, Wartburg College, and outside sources.  Students who complete the financial aid application process will be considered for federal, state, and institutional aid.  Outside aid must be applied for through various outside agencies, such as employers, clubs, foundations, and churches.  It is recommended that internet search engines and scholarship research agencies be used only if there is no fee associated with the service.

New students should notify the Financial Aid Office of gift assistance from outside organizations by completing the Outside Scholarship Form online at https://vip.wartburg.edu/finaid/outsidescholarship.pdf.

Original awards may require adjustment to comply with federal guidelines.  Wartburg will always do what is best for the student.  In most situations an outside scholarship will reduce the amount of out-of-pocket expense for the student.

Subsidized and Unsubsidized Direct Loans
Financial Aid will originate your Federal Direct Loan once you have registered for classes. You will need to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at https://studentaid.gov. To receive Federal Direct Loan funds on your student account, you will need to complete an Entrance Counseling session online at https://studentaid.gov to complete the process.

Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students -PLUS
The Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) is in the parent’s name. The parent borrower is responsible for the interest and principal repayment, which begins 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed. Credit checks are mandatory. If interested, a parent can complete the application steps as early as mid-June. Complete a Federal Direct PLUS application online at www.studentaid.gov. This is the credit approval for this academic year. FOR NEW BORROWERS ONLY: Complete a Federal Direct PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at www.studentaid.gov.

Alternative Private Loans
Students and/or parents can apply for an alternative loan offered from a variety of financial institutions.  Review and research private loan options at www.wartburg.edu/loans. It is recommended that students compare lenders before selecting a private loan. You may borrow from any lender you wish. Click on FASTChoice. The list of loans is not an all-inclusive list and does not imply endorsement by Wartburg. Wartburg will certify a loan from any lender you determine best meets your need, even if they are not on the list.

Employment
All full-time students are eligible to work on campus and can find jobs on our job board at www.wartburg.edu/ handshake. Jobs will be posted for the coming year as early as mid-July. Students will have their wages deposited directly into their bank accounts. Students may elect to have all or a percentage of their wages applied toward their tuition bill by filling out the Student Payroll Deduction Agreement in the Student Employment Office.
