Wartburg Scholarship Club
For more than 50 years, the Wartburg Scholarship Club has provided treats to Wartburg students and donated proceeds to a scholarship fund. The club provides scholarships of $1,000 each to at least five Wartburg students every year. To date, the club has contributed approximately $140,000 in scholarships and has also established an endowed scholarship that makes at least one award of $1,000 per year.
Membership in the Wartburg Scholarship Club is open to any friend of the college who is interested in supporting scholarships for students, including but not limited to alumni, college staff, faculty and their spouses, as well as college retirees and their spouses. (Formerly known as the Wartburg Women’s Club, the group voted in 2019 to change its name and make membership gender-inclusive.)
Membership dues are $15 per year or $25 for a couple and go directly to purchasing items for Power Sacks and to the annual scholarship fund. In addition, members are encouraged to provide treats for the Scholarship Project.

Club Activities
The club advertises the sale of cakes, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, Scotcheroos, bags of fruit or Power Sacks to families of Wartburg students for special celebrations such as birthdays, holidays, or special events. More than 300 items are provided each year through this project, so it’s all hands on deck!
You are welcome to bake your own or purchase the items from a local business. Cake boxes, cake rounds, brownie/cookie/cupcake boxes, and fruit bags are available to club members at the Student Life Office on the first floor of the Saemann Student Center, along with an orange card for the treat message. Club members deliver their items to the Student Life Office, and the employee notifies the students about picking up their treat. Members not providing treats are encouraged to contribute $50 to the annual scholarship fund. Join the club to be part of the student treat project!
