The free event is open to the community and is just one of several opportunities to celebrate the rich diversity and global connections that enhance the Wartburg community. The community also is invited to the following events:

Takumi Kato, a world champion taiko drummer from Japan, leads Peaceful Forest, which also includes his three children. They have been performing in the United States since October 2022 and hope to perform in all 50 states, connecting people and promoting peace and harmony.
The concert was made possible by the Franklin I. and Irene List Saemann Foundation and the Wartburg College Global Engagement Team.
“One of the Saemann Foundation’s guiding philosophies is to find places to ‘sow a few seeds’ to foster greater connection between world communities,” said Joyce Boss, Franklin I. and Irene List Saemann Chair in World Communities. “I hope many people can attend this event so that we can all come together to experience the power and beauty of taiko.”
