Renée Barney serves as the information literacy and technology librarian at Vogel Library, where she manage the college’s Integrated Library System (ILS) and oversee library technology initiatives. In addition to managing the ILS and circulating technology, Renée supervises the ELITE consultants, a team of student employees who provide technology assistance and education to the campus community. She also is an information literacy instructor, offers reference and research support, and maintains the library’s online presence.
Renée, who has more than 25 years of experience in academic libraries, was honored with the Distinguished Mountaineer Award from Western Colorado University in recognition of exceptional service and unique contributions to the university community.
Beyond the library, Renée contributes to the Wartburg community as a representative on the Wartburg Community Symphony Association Board, is faculty adviser for Phi Eta Sigma, a member of the HLC writing team, and librarian liaison to Group B.
