Brett Gregory

Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Education

Brett Gregory is a Visiting Professor of Music Education at Wartburg College, where he teaches music education courses and mentors future music educators. A Wartburg alumnus, he is grateful for the opportunity to return to his alma mater and invest in the next generation of music teachers.

Before joining the Wartburg faculty, Brett spent 11 years teaching vocal music in Iowa public schools, primarily working with students in grades 6–12. During that time, he directed curricular and extracurricular choirs, prepared students for honor choir auditions, and developed a passion for fostering musical independence through music literacy and student-centered rehearsal practices. Brett has also served as the Director of Music at churches in Waterloo, Des Moines, and Waukee.

Brett earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Wartburg College and his Master of Music Education from the University of Kansas. His professional interests include choral pedagogy, music literacy, teacher preparation, and helping students discover both the artistry and the humanity of music education.
