Ruth Schaff

Ruth Schaff (nee Clark), beloved woman of faith, age 89 of Omaha, Nebraska, went home to be with the Lord, on June 25, 2024. Born in Peoria, IL in 1934, Ruth was a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, where she earned a degree in Medical Laboratory Science. She was married to Robert Schaff, a dedicated Lutheran pastor who served congregations in Cook, NE, Gothenburg, NE, and finally at the Lutheran Church of the Master in Omaha, NE. She devoted her life to caring for her family and cherished moments with friends and church members. Ruth also enjoyed playing tennis, reading, doing crossword puzzles, lots of butter, and watching sports, especially football. She was gentle, kind, and compassionate.
Her love for the Lord Jesus Christ was unwavering, and she looked forward to reuniting with Robert and fellow believers in Heaven. Despite her physical limitations in later years, Ruth maintained a positive spirit. Ruth’s legacy includes a loving marriage of 64 years to Robert Schaff; her beloved children, Stephanie (Tom) Christiansen, Tim (Cheryl) Schaff, and Tom (Kris) Schaff; her grandchildren, Danielle, Stephen, Emily, Hannah, Grace, Sam, and Sarah; and her great-grandchildren, Elijah and Tommy. She is also survived by her sisters, Charmaine (Lyman) Kellstedt and Marcia (Jerry) Dodson, brother-in-law Charles (Sharon) Schaff, and sister-in-law Marlene (Jim) Bruning.
In a final act of generosity, Ruth donated her body to the Nebraska Anatomical Board to contribute to medical education and scientific research.
