Ruth Renata Moeller, 93, of Waverly, died Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Tripoli Nursing Home in Tripoli, Iowa.
Ruth was born September 29, 1931, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Renata (Schott) Albrecht. She was baptized the following day in the New Hampton Hospital. She first lived in Waucoma where she was confirmed in 1945. In 1947, she moved to New Hampton and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1949. She graduated from Wartburg College in 1951 with a teaching certificate. She taught for five years in Fredericksburg, Lamont and Waverly country school: Lafayette School #5. On June 3, 1954, she was united in marriage to Floyd Moeller at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. Ruth farmed alongside Floyd for many years, especially tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Floyd passed away in 2011.
Ruth was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waverly where she was active with the St. Paul’s quilting group. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and playing the piano. She especially cherished spending time with her five grandsons.
Ruth is survived by three children; Robert “Bob” (Rhonda) Moeller of Waverly, Suzanne (Anthony) Ostle of Gretna, NE and Daniel (Jamie) Moeller of Indianola, five grandsons; Matthew (Amanda) Ostle of Omaha, NE, Ryan (Becca) Moeller of Tripoli, Allan Ostle of Omaha, NE, Randy (Shannon) Moeller of Waverly and Alex Ostle of Omaha, NE, five great granddaughters; Ellie, Madison, Adaline, Lydia Moeller of Tripoli and Natalie Ostle of Omaha, NE, one great grandson, Corbin Matejka and one brother, Theodore (Mary Elizabeth) Albrecht of VanMeter. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, brothers, Rev John (LaVonne) Albrecht, Otto and Robert Albrecht, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Ruth Foster, nieces; Darla Allison, Donna Albrecht and nephews; Eric Albrecht, John Albrecht Jr and David Foster.
