Larry Kueker ’66

Larry L. Kueker, 81, of Waverly, Iowa died on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly.

Larry Lee Kueker was born on May 7, 1944, the son of Leslie and Mildred (Heineman) Kueker in Waverly. He was baptized on May 28, 1944, and confirmed on April 27, 1958, both at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waverly. He graduated from Waverly High School and attended Wartburg College for a year. Following his education, he started working at Carnation for several years and then at General Machine & Tool now TDS before retiring in 2011. On March 28, 1965, he was united in marriage to Rae Jean Israelson at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waverly.

He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church where he also served as a trustee and served as a board member for the Senior Little League. Larry was an outdoors person and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed boating, bowling, playing pool, collecting cars and attending car shows and working on tractors. However, family was most important to him and loved attending the kids and grandkids events.

Survivors are his wife, Rae Jean of Waverly; son, Scott (Jackie) Kueker of Ankeny; two daughters, Suzanne (Keith) Poock of Ankeny and Amy (Chad) Feight of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Natalie Henriksen) Kueker, Jaelynn (Tyler) Heinzerling, Andrew Poock, Elisabeth Poock, Ethan Poock, Gracey Feight and Leeah Feight. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David on February 5, 2017.
