The Wartburg Commitment expands access to a private college education through competitive pricing, meaningful financial aid, and funding for experiential learning opportunities. Whether you’re looking for affordability, value, or opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, Wartburg is committed to helping you make the most of your college experience.
Competitive Sticker Price
To help more undergraduate students discover the value of the Wartburg experience, our published tuition price is now 30-40% lower than similar colleges in Iowa. This brings the overall cost closer to what students typically pay, while continuing to recognize student achievement through scholarships and other financial aid.
Generous Merit Scholarships
Wartburg offers academic scholarships to all students who qualify. These scholarships often cover more than 50 percent of tuition.
Tuition Covered Through Access to Excellence
Access to Excellence covers full tuition all four years for lower- and middle-income families! This program has expanded even more for students entering in Fall 2027 — read on to see if you qualify.
Iowa Students
All new admitted full-time undergraduate students from Iowa who qualify for the Iowa Tuition Grant (typically households with an annual adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less) will have their full tuition covered all four years through institutional, state, and federal gift assistance. Complete the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for the Iowa Tuition Grant, Federal Pell Grant, and other scholarships. Students must live on campus to participate in the program.
Out-of-State Students
All new admitted full-time out-of-state undergraduate students with a household adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less will have their full tuition covered for all four years through institutional and federal gift assistance. Complete the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant and other scholarships. Students must live on campus to participate in the program.
Knight’s Experience
Every full-time undergraduate student can receive up to $1,500 that can be used in their second, third, or fourth year for experiential learning. Qualifying programs include study away, international travel, off-campus May Term travel courses, internships, student teaching, research, service trips, and more.
At Wartburg, we’re committed to experiential learning that occurs inside and outside the classroom. The opportunity to learn about diverse communities and cultures through immersion and shared experiences is a distinct aspect of a Wartburg education. The Knight’s Experience increases access to enriching opportunities by providing students with one-time funding.
