Ellen Engh, director of Wartburg’s Alumni & Parent Engagement Office, was named chair-elect of the National Association for Campus Activities beginning May 1. She will transition to board chair in May 2027.
“Ellen brings a deep passion for engagement, a genuine love for this association and a people-centered leadership style that will serve NACA exceptionally well,” said Alicia Bates, the current chair. “I am excited to partner with her in this next chapter and confident in the impact she will have on our vision to create college communities where everyone belongs.”
Engh was first elected to the NACA board in 2023, having previously volunteered with the organization’s Central and Northern Plains regions, summer institutes and other events.
“NACA has been my professional home and made me a stronger professional. I am honored to give back by serving in this role,” Engh said. “I am passionate about advancing NACA’s mission through innovation, collaboration and volunteer engagement. I look forward to working alongside our board, volunteers, members and staff to move the association forward in our next strategic plan.”
A Wartburg college alumna, Engh returned to her alma mater in 2021. She had previously served in a variety of roles overseeing student programming boards, student organizations, homecoming, residence hall councils, new student orientation and leadership programming at schools in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Illinois.
“Ellen brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to leadership that reflects her deep commitment to the lifelong development and success of our students. Her dedication to fostering meaningful experiences for students and alumni is a common thread throughout her work,” said Katie Green, executive director of advancement operations at Wartburg. “We’re excited to see her bring that energy and vision to the national stage through her role with NACA, helping shape vibrant college communities.”
