Wartburg College faculty receive tenure, promotion, emeritus status

The Wartburg College Board of Regents has approved tenure and promotion for three professors. One professor was approved for promotion and five were awarded emeritus status.

Those awarded tenure are:

• Cristian Allen, an assistant professor of mathematics. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and a doctorate from the University of North Texas. He will be promoted to an associate professor in September.

• Sean Coleman, an associate professor of biology. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Luther College and his doctorate from the University of Iowa. He will be promoted to a full professor in September.

• Michael Gleason, an associate professor of leadership. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and a doctorate from Iowa State University. He will be promoted to a full professor in September.

Brian Pfaltzgraff, an already-tenured associate professor of music, will be promoted to a full professor in September.

Those awarded emeritus status are:

• Jennifer Larson, associate professor of music.

• Susan Meyeraan, associate professor of business administration.

• Pam Ohrt, associate professor of journalism and communication.

• Todd Reiher, professor of psychology.

• John Zelle, professor of computer science.
