Cameron Mackey

Program Director, Health & Human Performance Grad Studies

Education 
Cameron earned his doctoral degree in Health and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University, along with a graduate certificate in Statistical Methods and Analyses. During his time at Oklahoma State University, he also earned his master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science and an undergraduate degree in Health and Exercise Science. While serving in the United States Air Force he earned an associate of science degree from the Community College of the Air Force. 

Professional Experience 
Cameron’s academic and professional work centers on health, human performance, and data-informed decision-making, primarily focusing on military and veterans. His background from Loyola University Chicago and Oklahoma State University combined applied research, teaching, and student engagement within higher education. 

Beyond the Classroom 
Some fun facts about Dr. Mackey are that he enjoys epic fantasy literature, with The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss among his favorites and has an April Fool’s birthdate. His favorite quote from Marcus Aurelius, “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth,” emphasizes perspective and critical thinking.
