Wayne Imm ‘51

Wayne L. Imm, 94, of Toluca, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, 5:10 am at his home in Toluca. Wayne was born February 20, 1929, in Streator, IL to Lester and Ella (Nenne) Imm. He married Dolores Ponsetto on November 28, 1953.  Wayne attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. In 1951 he went into the Army and served in Tokyo, Japan  during the Korean War. He came home and went into business with his father at Imm & Son, in Toluca, selling Chevrolet and Oldsmobile vehicles for 54 years. In addition, he owned & operated Toluca Bottling Works.  He served as president of St. John’s Cemetery board for 32 years. He also served on the church board, church council and was a volunteer firemen. As a member of the American Legion, he volunteered with the construction of the swimming pool. He was also a founding member of Tall Oaks Country Club. Wayne was a kind, compassionate soul who accepted others for who they were. His strong faith carried him through his life until the end. Not only was his family central in his life, he was an avid outdoorsmen  who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing & a good Manhattan with his family & friends. Surviving is his wife, Dolores along with his children, Paul (Carol) Imm, of Toluca, Ann Marie (Kelly) Bramer, of Bettendorf, IA, and Susan (Paul) Beaston of Montrose, CO., five grandchildren, Nicole (John) Curiale, Jessica (Griffin) Hahn, Ben (Carlye) Bramer, Max Bramer, Stephanie Bramer and six great grandchildren, Caleb, Eli, Ella, Judah Curiale, Isaac & Lucas Hahn; and 2 sisters, Carol Moore, and Bonnie Richard. His parents and two sisters, Beverly Haley, and Lois McClure preceded him in him death.
