Charles “Chuck” Albert Steahr, age 68, of Centerville, IA, passed away surrounded by his family at the Mercy One Medical Center on March 25th, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Muscatine, IA on September 26, 1956, the son of Charles and Betty (Workman) Steahr. He attended the Muscatine High School graduating with the class of 1974. Chuck then attended St. Ambrose College and Wartburg College earning his MBA. He worked at Murphy Brothers, Louis Rich, Bridgestone Bandag, Menards and East Penn. In his free time, he loved to go camping, watch Iowa Hawkeyes football, spend time with his family and friends. He loved his role as a papa and rarely told his grandchildren no. He loved talking about all the shenanigans his cousins and his college gang got into.
Chuck is survived by his wife Cindy Steahr of Centerville, his son Clayton (Katie) Steahr of Muscatine, his daughter Megan Steahr of Burlington, stepdaughter Jenny (Jay) Schmidt of Centerville, step son Dylan Johnson of Centerville, his grandchildren: Braylon Kinleigh and Parklynn Schmidt of Centerville, 3 nieces, 2 nephews, 19 great nieces, 12 great nephews and two great-great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnny and his grandparents.
