Earn a B.A. and M.A. in five years

The Master of Arts in Library and Information Science (MALIS) degree program is the only professionally credentialed and internationally accredited program in information organizations and services available in the State of Iowa. LIS is an interdisciplinary field of study that centers on the documentation that records our stories, memory, history, and knowledge. Program graduates work in a variety of information science-related sectors including higher education, K-12 education, governmental, non-governmental, galleries, archives, museums, corporations, hospitals, law firms, data analytics, anywhere that there is a need to collect, organize, and access documents and information resources.

Wartburg undergraduate students in this accelerated program earn graduate credit at the University of Iowa during their senior year. Additional credentials that can be earned during the graduate-only year of study are: special collections librarianship and archives graduate certificate and book arts graduate certificate. Wartburg undergraduate students from any major may pursue this program.
