Nursing
Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.

Registered nursing programs prepare people to work as RNs. Students learn techniques and procedures of caring for patients and helping doctors. They learn to give medicine and treatments. They also learn to comfort and instruct patients.

About Pre-professional Majors

Pre-professional majors are tracks in undergraduate programs that prepare you for a professional degree after your bachelor’s. A pre-professional major is not a major in the traditional sense, it’s more of a track to follow.

A faculty adviser will help you pick out the best courses and activities to increase your chances of being admitted to your professional program of choice. Wartburg has stellar acceptance rates with top professional and graduate programs, but remember that just because you choose a pre-professional major and completed your plan, does not guarantee you admission to a professional program.
