The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. Chris serves as strategic counsel for the vice president of advancement and generates marketing approaches for the college. He is an account executive and manages the Marketing & Communication Office and Digital Print Center staff of Wartburg College. As an independent consultant, his clients have been based in Washington, D.C., New York, Charleston, S.C., New Orleans, and other locations around the Midwest. He is a past national vice president for PRSSA National and has been a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) member since 2003.

Dr. Pier holds a B.A. degree in communication from Minnesota State University at Moorhead, an M.A. degree in communication from Missouri State University at Springfield, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Pier is a member of the National Communication Association and International Communication Association. She is the co-author of three books, Campaign ’96, published in 1999, The Primary Decision: A Functional Analysis of Debates in Presidential Primaries, published in 2002, and Campaign 2000, published in 2003.
