Tyler Amick

Wartburg has not disappointed

NAME: Tyler Amick

CLASS YEAR: 2018

HOMETOWN: Austin, Minn.

MAJOR: History, American history education, and world history education

INVOLVEMENT ON CAMPUS: History Club, president of Phi Alpha Theta, Ritterchor, Symphonic Band

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE WARTBURG: I chose Wartburg because of its reputation for a great education program, and it certainly has not disappointed. I hear all sorts of things about first-year teachers being under-equipped as they head into the workforce, but I feel very confident in my abilities as a teacher thanks to Wartburg’s Department of Education.

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU NEVER IMAGINED YOU COULD DO BEFORE COMING TO WARTBURG: I never imagined that I could present my own undergraduate research, and now I have presented papers at two RICE Days and three research conferences.

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: I plan on returning to Minnesota to teach either history or language arts (or both).
