FIELD ECOLOGY OF IOWA

During May Term we will offer Field Ecology of Iowa. We will travel to unique sites throughout the state and camp overnight in some of Iowa’s most amazing state parks.  Some of the ecosystems we will visit include forests, prairies, rivers, bogs, and caves. The course will spend two days on campus and two days traveling each week.  Students will learn field ecology skills and participate in research projects.  Students will receive 1.0 credits for this field biology course (BI 348).  Odd years.

Camping: Students will camp with the group at modern campsites. Tents and cooking supplies are available.

Cost: The trip cost, ~ $500, will include all transportation, lodging, and meals during travel off campus.

Preparation: Students should dress for field study (long pants, sturdy shoes, rain gear, sunscreen and bug repellent as needed) when traveling off campus.
