Chris Knudson, chief marketing officer and director of Wartburg College’s Strategic Marketing & Communication Office, recently was named the District VI recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Service Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes Knudson’s professional service to CASE, where he has been an active volunteer since 2007.

“I’m deeply moved and humbled by this recognition. It’s been a privilege to serve our district with so many dedicated professionals who understand the importance of the work we do in advancing higher education at institutions of all types,” Knudson said.

During his time with CASE, Knudson has served in leadership roles for 10 CASE conferences, including two joint conferences with the CASE V region. In 2020, he was tapped by national CASE leadership to serve as a co-chair for the first virtual International All Districts Conference, which set the record for the largest CASE event in history with more than 19,000 registrants.

CASE is the global nonprofit association dedicated to educational advancement — alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and advancement services — and championing education to transform lives and society. District VI serves an eight-state region that includes Iowa.
