February 9, 2012
“Bach’s Lunch” returns to Wartburg College Friday, Feb. 17, with a presentation about the composer and a recital.
Dr. Karen Black, professor of music and Rudi Inselmann Endowed Professor in Organ, will present the hour-long program, beginning with a noon lunch in the Chapel Commons, followed by a 30-minute recital in the chapel.
During lunch, Black will provide insights into the Bach compositions she will perform — “Prelude and Fugue in C Major,” “Fugue in B minor (on a theme by Corelli)” and “Fantasia and Fugue in G minor.”
Attendees are invited to bring a lunch or order one from the Den-Rittersaal by Wednesday by contacting Marica Haugen, music department office coordinator, at marcia.haugen@wartburg.edu or 352-8300.
Remaining concerts in the series are March 16 and April 13.
