Three popular fitness classes are starting new sessions in mid-February at the Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center.

Four-week sessions of Boot Camp and TRX Fit and a six-week session of Zumba begin the week of Feb. 20.

Boot Camp includes plyometrics, running, stairs, calisthenics and other workouts to burn calories and get the body moving. A four-week nutritional program will help participants shed unwanted pounds. Classes meet Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 5:30–6:30 a.m. or 12:05–12:55 p.m. Cost is $87 for W members and $111 for nonmembers.

TRX Fit utilizes body weight and angles to develop strength and endurance and increase joint flexibility and mobility. Classes meets Tuesday-Thursday, 5:30–6:30 a.m. or 12:05–12:55 p.m. Cost is $58 for W members and $76 for nonmembers.

“Taking both Boot Camp and TRX Fit will provide four weeks of ultimate daily workouts,” said Nilan Lansing, interim assistant director for fitness.

Zumba utilizes Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow routines in an energizing and calorie-burning workout. The Monday-Wednesday class meets from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday classes are offered at 6:40 and 7:50 p.m. Cost is $35 for W members and $65 for nonmembers.
