Application
Criteria
Applications are currently being accepted. Applications are reviewed when received and students are accepted on a rolling basis.
Applicants will be ranked based on the following criteria:
• Essay including the following
• Potential community need
• Potential service project to be completed during senior year of high school that meets that need
• Potential value of the project for the student and the community
• Potential number impacted
• Potential depth of impact
• Potential sustainability of the project after the student leaves for college
• High School Transcripts (unofficial copy is fine)
• Recommendations from one teacher and one community member
Cost: $650*
The cost for each participant includes:
• tuition payment for 3.5 hours of college credit (an $810 value)
• full room and board on campus for week of institute (over $150 value)
• travel and accommodations in Chicago (over $120 value).
Participants who attend Wartburg are eligible for a scholarship worth $1000 per year for up to four years.
