The
Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR)
CUR is mainly focused on faculty and administrator roles. They hold
a conference every other year in June. CUR conducts numerous events
each year for faculty and administrators. In addition CUR sponsors Posters on the Hill,
an opportunity for students to present poster sessions to the U.S.
Congress and the Undergraduate
Summer Research Fellowship Program. Wartburg is an institutional
member of CUR.
National
Conferences on Undergraduate Research (NCUR®)
The main focus of NCUR is to provide undergraduate students with
the opportunity to present at a national conference (see above).
This organization encourages undergraduate research in all disciplines.
Davis
United World College Scholars Program
Wartburg has recently been included to participate in the Davis
United World College Scholars Program. The Foundation has initiated
a “100 Projects for Peace” initiative wherein Wartburg
is eligible for funding of a $10,000 student-initiated “grassroots
project for peace that they themselves will implement anywhere in
the world."
Publications
that accept student submissions
- Psi
Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research
Encourages undergraduate students to submit manuscripts
for consideration. The primary author of a submitted manuscript
must be an undergraduate student who is a member of Psi Chi.
- American
Journal of Undergraduate Research
Refereed journal for undergraduate research in the pure
and applied sciences, mathematics, engineering, technology,
and related areas.
- Undergraduate
Research Journal for the Human Sciences
An annual online national, reviewed journal
dedicated to the publication of undergraduate student research.
The twofold purpose of the journal is to foster and reward
the scholarly efforts of undergraduate human sciences students
as well as to provide a valuable learning experience.
