The journalism
lab or "J-lab" includes state-of-the-art computer
work stations shared with the adjacent art department include such
peripherals as film and flatbed scanners, color and black-and-white
printers, graphics tablets, digital, still, and video cameras, and
various types of media readers/writers. Students learn computer
software used by graphic artists in painting, photography, multimedia,
typography, layout, and illustration. Applications include recent
versions of Photoshop, Freehand, Quark, Painter, Flash, and Director.
