Built in 1987 and 1989, these halls provide a living/learning atmosphere for groups of eight. A "24-hour quiet" policy is in effect. Groups are selected on the basis of a service project partnered with an organization in the Cedar Valley Area, stated goals, and means of evaluation. Each suite consists of four double rooms with two bathrooms and a spacious living area that can accommodate special programming. First-year students are rarely assigned to The Residence unless they are invited to be part of an existing project.  A Sustainability Suite was added for Fall 2011.  This suite is responsible for a sustainability project on Wartburg’s campus.  There are two single rooms and these residents display educational information on a bulletin boards twice a semester.

Student rooms are furnished with desks, chairs, dressers, closets, single beds, and window blinds. Each suite includes spacious living rooms that includes a couch.  Residents sometimes enhance the living rooms with their own furniture. Lounges are also furnished. All rooms have high-speed Internet and cable TV.
