TRUMPET CHOIR

The Wartburg Trumpet Choir was established in 2010 and provides students an opportunity to perform on a variety of trumpets (piccolo, C, Eb, flugelhorn, and bass trumpet) in a specialized brass ensemble setting.  Members represent a variety of musical organizations in the Wartburg music department and diverse majors across campus.

The Wartburg Trumpet Choir hosts the annual Wartburg Trumpet Festival, an event which invites high school trumpeters from Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois to participate in a mass trumpet honor choir and study with internationally known trumpet artists and teachers. Past trumpet festival artists have included Allen Vizzutti, Allan Dean, Vince DiMartino, and Thomas Hooten.

The Trumpet Choir represented Wartburg at the 2015 International Trumpet Guild Conference as a collegiate performing ensemble and performs regularly on campus and throughout the region.
