Student research

Biology, chemistry, biochemistry, computer science, engineering,
mathematics, and physics classes meet in the 110,000 square
foot Science Center facility completed in 2004.
The lower level
includes anatomy and microbiology laboratories, computer laboratory,
a general biology/biology education classroom, numerous student/faculty
research areas, physics laboratories, a virtual reality research
area, and scanning electron microscope suite.
The first floor
includes two small lecture halls, laboratories for biology,
chemistry, and general science, prep rooms, research areas,
a headhouse. and a greenhouse.
The upper floors
feature a chemistry instrument room; laboratories for analytical/physical,
advanced synthesis, organic and introductory chemistry; student
lounges; optics, and introduction to physics laboratories;
and numerous prep rooms. Classrooms, faculty offices and computer
labs for chemistry, physics, math, computer science, and engineering
are also located on these floors.
The Wartburg observatory,
located on the northwest side of campus near the baseball
diamond, uses state-of-the-art technology to record weather
and astronomical information. |
