Opened in 1991, the Fine Arts Center houses the departments
of music and art.
The lower level
of the Fine Arts Center includes a music therapy laboratory
with observation center, electronic music laboratory, numerous
practice rooms, individual art studios, faculty offices/studios,
and an instrument repair room.
The Waldemar A.
Schmidt Art Gallery, located on the first floor of the facility,
offers a monthly series of student and professional exhibits.
Rehearsal/recital halls for band, choir, and orchestra, practice
rooms, a music library, art department classrooms, and faculty
offices are also located on this floor.
The Presser Music
Technology Classroom, located on the second floor, contains
21 Macintosh workstations that are connected to the Internet.
Each workstation is equipped with a Yamaha PSR-220 MIDI keyboard.
Each computer contains Finale, Master Tracks Pro, Music Ace,
MusicTime, Practica Musica, Pyware 3D, and Microsoft Office.
The second floor also houses faculty offices/studios, classrooms
and a recording studio above the Orchestra Hall.
Thirty practice rooms are located
throughout the Fine Arts Center, each with a piano. Two locker
rooms are available for student equipment storage. Approximately
150 lockers of various sizes are also open to students.
Flexible art studio classroom spaces
adapt to the courses offered each term.The studios house equipment
for painting, drawing, sculpture, and jewelry, as well as ceramic
kilns, potters wheels, printmaking equipment, and jewelry-making
tools. |
